Family-Friendly Summer Activities Around Calgary, AB

It took long enough, but the summer season finally is here, which means residents of Calgary, AB can get themselves out into the community and enjoy some of the best this city has to offer in the warmer months. As your Nissan dealership serving Calgary, AB, we have our own favorites here at Sunridge Nissan, which we thought we’d share with you while there’s still plenty of time to work these activities into your busy summer schedules:

Calgary Zoo – If you’ve got a family, there are few better ways to spend a day than by heading out to the Calgary Zoo, which features over 1,000 animals from all over the world. The enclosures are a great start, but the zoo also boasts some really good restaurants, a huge playground space, and the ENMAX Conservatory, which allows up-close encounters with butterflies.

Glacier Skywalk – It’s a bit of a drive in your 2017 Nissan Rogue, but the trip is worth it to walk out onto this glass-floor walkway that extends over a cliff out at the Columbia Icefield. You’ll look 280 meters over the Sunwapta Valley and give you the sort of view human beings shouldn’t be able to see. The Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre is nearby, too, so make a day out of your trip to Jasper National Park!

Skyline Luge – We think of luge as a winter sport, but Skyline Luge provides plenty of family fun by letting wheels and gravity run their course. The new luge tracks are at the old Canada Olympic Park, which means the competitive atmosphere is pretty strong, too.

Make the most of Calgary, AB this summer with your family by hitting up some of these great summer activities. It will be winter again before you know it, so don’t waste any time piling into your Nissan vehicle and traveling the area!
